COOKIES
Our websites use so-called “cookies.” Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies.” They are automatically deleted after your visit ends. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent to store cookies has been requested (e.g., consent to store cookies for analytics), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Where other cookies (e.g., cookies for analyzing your browsing behavior) are stored, they are treated separately in this privacy policy.

In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if requested.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – especially retention periods – remain unaffected.

Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
5. ANALYSIS TOOLS AND ADVERTISING
WORDPRESS STATS
This website uses the WordPress tool "Stats" to statistically analyze visitor traffic. The provider is Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110-4929, USA.
WordPress Stats uses cookies that are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of the use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website is stored on servers in the USA. Your IP address is anonymized after processing and before storage.
“WordPress Stats” cookies remain on your device until you delete them.
The storage of “WordPress Stats” cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior to optimize both the website and advertising. If consent has been requested (e.g., consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out solely on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies, to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general, and to enable automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

If you delete the cookies on your device, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again.
GOOGLE ANALYTICS
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies.” These are text files stored on your computer that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both the website and its advertising. If appropriate consent was requested (e.g., consent to store cookies), processing is carried out exclusively based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be revoked at any time.
IP ANONYMIZATION
We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. As a result, your IP address will be shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website usage and internet usage to the website operator.
The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to fully use all functions of this website.
You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and its processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link:

We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
DEMOGRAPHIC FEATURES IN GOOGLE ANALYTICS
This website uses the “demographics” feature of Google Analytics. It allows the creation of reports that contain information about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. These data come from interest-based advertising by Google and third-party visitor data. These data cannot be assigned to a specific individual. You can deactivate this feature at any time in the ad settings of your Google account or prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described under “Objection to Data Collection.”
DATA RETENTION
User and event-level data stored by Google that is linked to cookies, user IDs, or advertising IDs (e.g., DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymized or deleted after 14 months. For details, see:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en
6. PLUGINS AND TOOLS
GOOGLE WEB FONTS
For uniform representation of fonts, this site uses web fonts provided by Google. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.
To do this, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. In doing so, Google becomes aware that your IP address was used to access this website. The use of Google Web Fonts is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the uniform and appealing presentation of its online services.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.
More information about Google Web Fonts can be found at:
https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq
and in Google’s privacy policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
GOOGLE MAPS
This site uses the map service Google Maps via an API. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
To use the features of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer.
The use of Google Maps is in the interest of presenting our online offerings in an appealing way and to make the locations specified on the website easy to find. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy:

7. OWN SERVICES
HANDLING OF APPLICANT DATA
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, postal mail, or via an online application form). Below, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected as part of the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data will be carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other legal provisions, and that your data will be treated strictly confidentially.
SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF DATA COLLECTION
When you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes from interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship.
The legal basis for this is Section 26 BDSG-new under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (general contract initiation), and—if you have given consent—Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be passed on to persons involved in processing your application.
If the application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored on the basis of Section 26 BDSG-new and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship in our data processing systems.
RETENTION PERIOD OF DATA
If we are unable to offer you a position, you reject an offer, or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you have submitted based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for up to 6 months after the conclusion of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). The data will then be deleted, and any physical application documents will be destroyed.
Retention serves in particular as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it becomes apparent that the data will still be required after the 6-month period (e.g., due to a pending legal dispute), deletion will take place only when the purpose for further retention no longer applies.
Longer storage may also occur if you have given consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or if statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.
INCLUSION IN THE APPLICANT POOL
If we do not offer you a position, there may be the possibility of including you in our applicant pool. In the event of inclusion, all documents and information from your application will be transferred to the applicant pool in order to contact you in the event of suitable vacancies.
Inclusion in the applicant pool is based exclusively on your express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Giving consent is voluntary and has no relation to the ongoing application process.
The applicant can revoke their consent at any time. In this case, the data will be irreversibly deleted from the applicant pool, provided there are no legal grounds for retention.
The data in the applicant pool will be irreversibly deleted no later than two years after consent has been granted.
8. VIDEO SURVEILLANCE
On the basis of Section 4 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), we use video surveillance at and within our castle premises. You will be informed of the surveillance by a posted notice at the entrance to the respective building.
Video surveillance serves the following purposes, which also constitute legitimate interests in the sense of data processing:
-
Protection of property and cultural assets
-
Prevention of theft
-
Prevention of property damage (vandalism)
-
Securing evidence
The recorded data is automatically deleted by the system after 28 working days, unless incidents relevant to our legitimate interests occur—particularly damage to property—requiring longer retention.
9. OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCES
DATA PROCESSING THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKS
We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. You can find the specific platforms we use below.
Social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. can usually comprehensively analyze your user behavior when you visit their websites or websites with integrated social media content (e.g., like buttons or advertisements). Visiting our social media profiles triggers numerous data protection-related processing operations.
When you are logged into your social media account and visit our profile, the operator of the social media portal can associate this visit with your user account. Your personal data may also be collected even if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media platform. In such cases, data collection can occur, for example, via cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.
Using the data thus collected, the operators of the social media platforms can create user profiles that store your preferences and interests. This way, interest-based advertising can be shown to you both inside and outside the respective platform. If you have an account with the respective social network, this advertising can be displayed across all devices on which you are or were logged in.
Please also note that we cannot track all processing activities on social media platforms. Depending on the provider, additional processing may be carried out by the operators of the social networks. For details, please consult the terms of use and privacy policies of the respective platforms.
LEGAL BASIS
Our social media presences are intended to ensure the broadest possible presence on the internet. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social networks may be based on different legal grounds to be stated by the providers (e.g., consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
CONTROLLER AND EXERCISING OF RIGHTS
If you visit one of our social media profiles (e.g., Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the platform operator for the data processing operations triggered by this visit.
You can assert your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media platform (e.g., Facebook).
Please note that despite the joint responsibility with the platform operators, we do not have full influence over the data processing procedures. Our capabilities depend largely on the corporate policies of the respective provider.
STORAGE DURATION
The data we collect directly via our social media presence is deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, you request deletion, revoke your consent, or the data storage is no longer required. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions—particularly retention periods—remain unaffected.
We have no control over the storage duration of your data that is stored by social network operators for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social networks directly (e.g., via their privacy policies, see below).
